Choosing a photographer is a personal decision. You’re inviting someone into a tender season of your life, sometimes into your home, and trusting them with memories you can’t recreate. It makes sense to want to hear from people who have been there before you.
On this page you’ll find reviews from real clients. I’m so grateful for every family who has taken a few minutes to share their experience. Each one means a great deal to me, and each one helps another parent feel a little more at ease before their own session.

What a Session with Me Feels Like
My goal is to take the stress and stiffness out of photography. There’s no “say cheese” and no pressure to perform. I’ll guide you from start to finish, so you never have to wonder where to look or what to do with your hands, and I’ll leave plenty of room for the moments that happen on their own.
Most families are surprised at how much fun they have once we get going. Kids get to play, parents get to slow down, and Mom finally gets to be in the photos instead of behind the phone. From your first message to your finished gallery, I want the whole experience to feel easy, personal and fun. You can read more about my approach on my About page.
I also know that every family is different. Some are chatty and playful, some are quieter and need a little time to warm up. The questionnaire you fill out after booking helps me understand your family before we meet, so the session can move at a pace that feels right for you.
Why Your Review Matters
I’m a local photographer, and when families search for someone to trust with their memories, reviews are often the first thing they read. An honest review helps other parents on the Saanich Peninsula and in Victoria find a photographer who suits them.
It also helps me. Hearing what you loved, and what could have been easier, shapes how I plan every session that follows. Short or long, every review is read and appreciated.

How to Leave a Google Review
Leaving a review only takes a couple of minutes. You’ll need to be signed in to a Google account, and reviews are posted publicly under your Google name.
- On a computer, search Google for Alyssa Orrego Photography and open the business profile.
- Find the Reviews section and select “Write a review”. Sign in if Google asks you to.
- On your phone, open the Google Maps app, search for Alyssa Orrego Photography, then tap the Reviews tab.
- Choose a star rating, then describe your experience in your own words. You can add a favourite photo or two if you like.
- Select “Post”, and you’re done. Thank you!

Questions families ask
What should I write in my review?
Whatever feels true to you. Many people mention what the session felt like, how their kids responded and how they felt seeing their gallery. A few sentences is plenty.
When is the best time to leave a review?
Whenever it suits you. Many people find it easiest once they’ve had time to look through their gallery and choose their favourites, but there’s no deadline.
Can I include photos from my session?
Yes. You have printing rights to your chosen digitals, and you’re welcome to add a favourite image or two to your Google review.
I’m nervous about being photographed. Is that normal?
Completely normal, and very common. I’ll guide you the whole way and keep things relaxed. If you’d like to talk it over first, send me a message and we can chat before you book.
